Tocvan Traces 1,000-Metre Corridor North of Gran Pilar Main Zone

New rock samples at Gran Pilar returned up to 2.4 g/t gold and 67 g/t silver, and Tocvan says its Central Corridor now runs more than 1,000 metres on the same structural trend as the Main Zone.

Tocvan Ventures Corp. reported new surface rock sampling at its 100%-owned Gran Pilar gold-silver project in Sonora, Mexico, returning up to 2.4 g/t gold, 67 g/t silver and 1.6% copper, and traced its emerging Central Corridor over more than 1,000 metres of strike including a new zone about four kilometres north of the Main Zone.

Tocvan Ventures Corp. (CSE: TOC) said Friday that fresh rock sampling at its 100%-owned Gran Pilar gold-silver project in Sonora, Mexico has extended the Bojorquez Target and turned up an entirely new mineralized zone roughly four kilometres north of the project's Main Zone. Taken together, the results give the company a coherent structural story to chase: what it calls the Central Corridor has now been traced over more than 1,000 metres of strike, on the same orientation as the deposit Tocvan has spent years drilling.

Highlight rock samples returned up to 2.4 grams per tonne gold and 67 grams per tonne silver. Some of the samples also carried copper values reaching 1.6% Cu, associated with old mine workings hosted in a tourmaline breccia — a hard, cemented rock formed where mineralizing fluids shattered and re-glued the host rock along a structure. That texture matters more than the copper number itself; tourmaline breccias are a recognised plumbing signature in this style of system, and finding one under historic workings suggests earlier operators were following something.

What surface rock grades do and do not tell you

Rock sampling is the cheapest tool in an explorer's kit and the easiest to over-read. A grab or chip sample is a single point on the ground, usually chosen because it looks mineralized. It establishes that gold, silver and copper are present at that spot and at what tenor; it does not establish thickness, continuity, or how much rock carries those values at depth. The 2.4 g/t Au and 67 g/t Ag figures are, in other words, a vector — a direction to drill — rather than a resource statement.

Where the announcement carries more weight is in the geometry. Tocvan is not describing scattered anomalies but a trend that shares a structural orientation with the Main Zone and now runs for over a kilometre. In exploration, repetition along a single structure is what converts isolated showings into a target that justifies a drill program. The new zone sitting about four kilometres north of the Main Zone stretches the district-scale footprint of Gran Pilar considerably, and the company said sampling and mapping across the corridor are continuing, with soil geochemical grids in progress.

The next data points come from soil, not the drill

Soil grids are the logical follow-up step and the one investors should watch before assuming a rig is on its way. A grid of soil samples across the corridor will show whether the gold-silver signature is continuous between the outcrops that have been sampled or whether the hits are separated by barren ground. That result, more than any single rock grade, determines where and how much Tocvan drills next, and whether the Central Corridor becomes a second focus alongside the Main Zone or stays a regional curiosity.

The other variable is cost discipline. Surface work of this kind — mapping, rock chips, soil lines — is inexpensive relative to diamond drilling, which is why juniors run it hard in a strong metals tape. Expanding a target footprint with a few hundred thousand dollars of fieldwork is a far better use of treasury than stepping out blind with a drill. The tell that management genuinely believes in the corridor will be a dedicated drill allocation to it in the next program, rather than a continuation of infill work around the known zone.

The market reaction was measured

Tocvan's U.S. quotation, TCVNF, finished the Friday session at 0.55, up 2.21% from a prior close of 0.54, having traded a narrow range of 0.53 to 0.55 — figures as of the last trade at 20:00 GMT on August 28, 2026. That is a polite response rather than a re-rating, which is roughly what surface geochemistry usually earns. The company also carries a German listing under WKN TV3/A2PE64 alongside its Canadian Securities Exchange line and OTCQB quotation.

The wider tape offered no help. The S&P 500 proxy SPY closed at $769.35, down 0.23%, the Nasdaq 100 proxy QQQ at $716.43, down 0.65%, and the Dow tracker DIA at $535.06, essentially flat at -0.03%. Broad indexes drifting lower is a mildly hostile backdrop for microcap resource names, which tend to need risk appetite as much as good drill assays to move. Against that, a 2.21% gain on exploration news that contains no ounces is a reasonable outcome.

Where Gran Pilar sits in the Sonora picture

Sonora is Mexico's most established gold jurisdiction, with a long history of open-pit heap-leach operations and a dense population of juniors working the same structural belts. The practical advantage for a company like Tocvan is infrastructure and access: roads, power, water and contractors are all within reach, and Hermosillo — where the announcement was dated — is a functioning mining services hub. That lowers the cost per metre of testing a new target, which is precisely why a four-kilometre step-out is a realistic exercise rather than a logistical project.

The strategic read on the announcement, as reported by INN Precious Metals, is that Tocvan is trying to move Gran Pilar from a single-deposit story to a multi-zone land package. That is the standard playbook for a developer that wants either scale for its own mine plan or optionality in a sale process. Multiple zones on a common structure make a project easier to describe to a larger acquirer than one pit with a fixed footprint.

What would change the thesis

Three things would meaningfully advance the case. First, soil results that link the Bojorquez extension to the new northern zone along the full traced length, confirming the corridor is one system rather than three showings. Second, drill holes into the corridor that show real widths at grades in the range the surface samples suggest — rock chips regularly flatter what a core hole eventually returns. Third, clarity on how the copper occurrences relate to the gold-silver mineralization, since a tourmaline breccia with 1.6% Cu may point to a deeper, hotter part of the system than the near-surface precious metals.

Absent those, this remains what it is: an inexpensive, competently executed piece of surface work that materially enlarges the map without yet adding a tonne of rock to anything countable. For a junior explorer, that is a normal and necessary step — but it is a step, not an arrival.

Frequently asked questions

What did Tocvan actually announce at Gran Pilar?

Tocvan Ventures Corp. reported new surface exploration results from its 100%-owned Gran Pilar gold-silver project in Sonora, Mexico. Rock sampling extended the Bojorquez Target and identified a new mineralized zone about four kilometres north of the Main Zone within what the company calls the emerging Central Corridor, now traced over more than 1,000 metres of strike.

How strong are grades of 2.4 g/t gold and 67 g/t silver?

They are respectable values for surface rock samples and confirm precious metal mineralization is present at those points. But rock chips are single-point samples chosen because they look mineralized. They indicate tenor and direction for drilling, not thickness, continuity or tonnage, and drill core often returns lower average grades than surface highlights suggest.

Why does the tourmaline breccia matter?

A tourmaline breccia is rock that was shattered and re-cemented by hot mineralizing fluids moving along a structure. It is a recognised signature of the plumbing system that delivers metals. Tocvan found copper values reaching 1.6% in breccia associated with old mine workings, suggesting historic operators were following the same structure.

Where did Tocvan's shares close?

The U.S. quotation TCVNF finished at 0.55, a gain of 2.21% from its previous close of 0.54, within a day range of 0.53 to 0.55, as of the last trade at 20:00 GMT on August 28, 2026. That is a modest move consistent with surface geochemistry rather than a resource or drilling milestone.

What comes next in the exploration program?

Tocvan said sampling and mapping across the Central Corridor are ongoing and soil geochemical grids are in progress. Soil results will show whether the mineralized signature is continuous along the corridor or confined to isolated outcrops, which in turn determines where and how heavily the company drills in its next program.

Where is Gran Pilar and why does the location help?

Gran Pilar sits in Sonora, Mexico, the country's most established gold-producing state, with the announcement dated from Hermosillo. Sonora offers roads, power, water and an experienced contractor base, which lowers the cost of testing new targets and makes a four-kilometre step-out from the Main Zone a practical field exercise.
